MPJI Images In Media Institute

The MPJI images in media institute has been established to study how mainstream media uses images to establish and control public perception of people. Primarily the African-American and the Mexican American people. The institute will study the way images are used in print media, broadcast media, the motion picture and television industry and advertising medium to present a certain image of these people.  The institute will work to help mainstream media develop a better understanding of how important is to gather and disseminate information more accurately and fairly in reference to minority people. The institute will also work with individuals and government entities who are in position to make decisions and that have the power to force the aforementioned industries to change their gathering and disseminating of information policies or face some type of negative consequence if they do not do so voluntarily.
