  (MPJI) Minority Photo / Journalism Institute presents the first annual HBCU sports action shot football shootout for the 2010 HBCU football season. For the best action shot From a regular scheduled football game playoff game or championship game during the HBCU  2010 football season. The competition is open to all sports photographers/photographers working for the school's newspaper.

All entries may be e-mailed to 2010hbcu1shootout@mpji.org Entries must include the photographer's name the date the photos were shot the names of the team's competing in the game the place the game took place and the name of the school newspaper they were shot for.

2010 MPJI/HBCU Football Shootout Photo Competition Rules

 Who May Enter

Any HBCU school newspaper Sports/ Newspaper photographer actively involved with the school newspaper.

Eligibility

1.    All images entered must be the work of or owned by the photographer on the entry form. The photographer agrees to provide documentation of ownership upon the request of MPJI.

2.    The photographer is responsible for securing appropriate model releases from each subject(s) and agrees to provide copies to MPJI upon request.

3.    MPJI member association officers (president, president-elect, vice president, and treasurer), employees, staff, press, their family members, and those domiciled with them are not eligible to win. Winners may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and complete a Claim Form and a W-9 Form, if applicable.

4.    By submitting an entry for consideration, winners agree to the terms and conditions of the contest and authorize MPJI to use their name, entry materials, information, and likeness in reporting and promoting MPJI activities the benefit the MPJI/HBCU photo programs. All entries become the property of MPJI and will not be returned to the contestant.

5.    MPJI reserves the right to manage all aspects of the competition for the benefit of the field. This shall include, but not be limited to, the authority to determine entrant eligibility, to advise the judges in instances where they request the MPJI counsel on various aspects of the contest, and to make any on-the-spot rulings as may be necessary.

 What May Be Entered
Each entry must be a high-resolution (250 to 300 dpi) 3 to 10 MB JPG file. File size must be appropriate for printing as a 16-by-20-inch print. Files need to be stripped of all watermarking and must not include applicant name or company name to ensure anonymity for judging.
